Welcome to the Torrisholme Church of the Ascension Rambling Club website
The purpose of the Club is to promote fellwalking and a love and respect for the countryside.

We walk every alternate Saturday.

SATURDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2010

DARWEN – HALF DAY

 

All walks start from the Visitors Centre near Tockholes.

The 'A' Party will be led by Jenny Hebblethwaite progressing to White Hill, Darwen Moor following the Witton Weavers Way to the Jubilee tower, on to Sunnyhurst Wood, the reservoir returning to Tockholes via field paths. 7.5 miles, 1500ft of ascent.
The 'B'  Party will be led by Brian Gibbon walking towards White Hill, to Darwen Moor, Jubilee Tower, Sunnyhurst Wood returning by the Reservoir and fields to Ryal Fold.  6.5 miles, about 1000 feet of ascent.

The 'C' Party Walk will be led by Alan Whittaker heading into the Tockholes plantation woods, Roddlesworth Moor, field paths to Roddlesworth, Sunnyhurst Wood, passing the reservoir then again through fields to Ryal Fold.  5 miles with three ascents totalling 600 feet.

PICKUP TIME: 12 noon from Torrisholme Church of the Ascension, Torrisholme

RAMBLING WEEKENDS  

STOCKTON-ON-TEES WEEKEND

What a brilliant weekend we had with lovely weather and good walks every day.  The food was excellent and we finished off with an excellent meal at the A66 Motel on our way home.

LLANDRINDOD WELLS WEEKEND 
23rd - 25th April 2010

Our next weekend away is to Llandrindod Wells in Wales, staying at the Glen Usk Hotel with plenty of places of interest in the surrounding area as well as excellent walking.
